Liverpool forward Xherdan Shaqiri has tried positive for Covid, the Swiss football affiliation has affirmed.
The 28-year-old Swiss winger restored the positive test in the wake of getting together with the Switzerland crew for their forthcoming games against Croatia, Spain, and Germany.
The Swiss FA has affirmed Shaqiri is currently in confinement and is “in contact with wellbeing specialists”.
An announcement read: “The severe defensive measures and necessities of UEFA for public groups as per the ‘UEFA Return to Play Protocol’ have been carefully clung to since the move started.
“In light of this, explanations are in progress with the neighborhood wellbeing specialists about how to continue.
Shaqiri, who was connected with a move away from Anfield this late spring, is the third Liverpool player to test positive for Covid after Thiago Alcantara and Sadio Mane.
