Instruction Secretary summoned for misrepresentation in school taking care of program

The Education Secretary of Sabon Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto, Ishaka Abdullahi has been arrainged before Justice Malami Umar Dogondaji of the State High Court for misrepresentation in the government school taking care of program.

Abdullahi was summoned on a six-check charge, verging on getting cash by affectation to the tune of N429,000 by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

His arraignment came after an insight which built up that the cross country Home Grown School Feeding Program (HGSFP) of the Federal Government for elementary school students has been commandeered by some fake components in Sabon Birni Local Government.

The commission’s examinations uncovered that one Hassi Abdullahi, who was named one of the cooks in the program and had a Union Bank account number 0077129142 passed on March 18, 2019, yet reserves were all the while being directed to her record from the HGSFP account, adding up to N429, 000 which was falsely pulled back.

A charge against the Education Secretary read;

“That you, Ishaka Abdullahi approximately the 16 November, 2018 at Sabon Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto State, inside the purview of this good court, acquired the aggregate of N135,000.00 (One Hundred and Thirty-5,000 Naira) from Hassi Abdullahi’s record No. 0077129142, domiciled in Union Bank Plc by misrepresentation, in spite of Section 1 (1)(a) of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Related Offenses Act 2006 and culpable under Section 1(3) same Act.”

He argued not liable to the charge, after which the indictment counsel S. H. Sa’ad requested a preliminary date.

Equity Dogondaji conceded the litigant abandon similar conditions that were applied in the previous charge for which he is confronting arraignment in a similar court. He deferred the issue till October 12, 2020 for initiation of preliminary.
