Four captured for purportedly pounding the life out of police officer in Ogun (photograph)

 

The police in Ogun state have captured four men for purportedly beating a yet-to-be-recognized cop to death in Dalemo, Sango, in the Ado-Odo-Ota Local Government Area of the state on Sunday, September 13.

In an announcement delivered on Monday, September 14, the representative of the state police order, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the four captured men distinguished as Jelili Ismaila, 22; Amidu Bankole, 34; Elijah Samson, 36; and Moses Proboye, 34, were supposedly employed by a truck driver who had a contention with the expired cop and his partner

Oyeyemi said the expired constable and one other were accompanying their head from Idah in Kogi State to Lagos State when the episode occurred.

“Fundamental examination uncovered that the perished official and one other accompanied their head from Idah in Kogi State to Lagos State. On their path going through Sango Ota, a truck driver, Jelili Ismaila, drove perilously and nearly pushed their vehicle off the street.

While making an effort not to hit the vehicle passing on the officials, the truck entered a pothole because of which its tire got penetrated.

This made the two police officers to descend and alert the truck driver to consistently be aware of other street clients. In any case, the driver blamed them for being to blame, subsequently assembling criminals who assaulted the officials and their head with weapons and beat the expired to a state of unconsciousness.

Having understood that the police officer may not endure the assault, the driver and his recruited gangsters fled. Yet, karma abandoned four of them when the DPO and his men on a clue raged their refuge and got them captured, while four others got away.

The remaining parts of the perished official have been kept at the General Hospital Ota morgue.” the announcement read

Oyeyemi included that the police has dispatched a manhunt for the other escaping suspects.
