AM I NOT GOOD ENOUGH?
As a human, at times we ponder over some things. We ask ourselves questions, maybe due to some difficulties we are going through. It could be relationship issues, family issues, money issues, friend issues. And then when the questions start coming in, there you have the criticism. You begin to think low of yourself and feel bad. Sometimes you feel like you are not worth it. But one thing we should bear in mind when stuff like that comes to our mind is that, everyone is special in their own way. No matter what race, tribe, complexion, height. We all have our amazing qualities. I’m not saying you shouldn’t bother but it makes no difference. No one is perfect. So whenever you think that you are not good enough, here are the things you should do:
1. Look At Yourself In The Mirror:
Yes, look at yourself in the mirror, see how amazing you are. Make a list of all the amazing things you have done. Tell yourself nice things, remind yourself of all the things that make you awesome, all the things you are excelling at. Remind yourself that you were not meant to be perfect but to be REAL. Remind yourself that you are you in your own special way.
2. Stop The Comparison:
Lots of people do this; they just keep comparing themselves with other people, simply because they see how happy the person looks on the outside. Have you ever sat to wonder if those people are really showing you who they really are? They may be just showing that happiness on the outside. As long as you are alive, that is enough to be thankful for. Despite what you think they have, what they get, it still doesn’t stop you from being you. You have no idea what they do to get what they have, it may be illegal. Maybe those people you compare yourself to want to have a simple life like yours. Don’t compare yourself with anyone; you are special in your own way.
3. Cut Down On Your Use Of Social Media:
This is very important. The use of social media is now very high. People are very addicted; they are always on their phone, texting. But this has a negative effect, because on social media, lots of things happen, people feel inferior. They feel less important, because on social media they see lots of their friends or age mates, spending what they can’t afford. So using social media all the time may be bad for you, because if you see them spending so much when you are struggling to feed, if you see them buying expensive clothes when you wear a particular clothe every day, if you see them buying cars when you can’t afford a bicycle; you will feel bad. So the best thing is to cut down, if possible, avoid it totally if you know you do not have much self-control.
That being said, one thing remains, and that is that everyone is amazing, no matter what you are being told. You are a great person, you may not see it now, but in no time, you will see it. When you start realizing that what makes a person is not what they have, but what they are. LOVE YOURSELF.
