14 bodies recouped so far as transport passing on chapel individuals to an internment dives into a waterway in Ebonyi

 

Misfortune struck in Ivo neighborhood government region in Ebonyi state on Friday night, September 18, after a transport passing on 32 people to an entombment, dove into Akaeze-Ukwu River in the nearby government territory.

Representative of the state police order, Loveth Odah, who affirmed the episode to newsmen, said 14 bodies have so far been recuperated while endeavors are being made to recoup the rest. She said the 14 cadavers that have been recouped include seven male and seven female.

Odah said among the five casualties saved was the driver of the said 608 liner transport with Reg no. UKP 78 XA Mr Nwaonu Chinedu a local of IKWO LGA of the State. She said one of the expired individual was a female whose body was recouped not long after the ithe casualty who passed on yesterday is a female who is yet to be distinguished.

“The female casualty was affirmed dead by a clinical Doctor on landing in Dennis Hospital Akaeke in the Area.

The driver portrayed that he passed on 32 individuals from the Christ Peculiar Church of Nigeria Enugu State branch to go to an internment service at Nguzu Edda in Afikpo South LGA of the State.

14 bodies have been recouped (7 female and 7 male) along with the 608 Vehicle.

The bodies have saved at Martha Memorial medical clinic morgue AFIKPO preservation.”Odah said
